What's with all the dots?

Is it just me, or has The Pipettes fashion taken over the high street? Whilst I'm all for looking sophisticated and lady-like, polka dots just look cheap and wrong. Who wants to look like they are wearing New Look 80s cast-offs? Or is that the whole point? Am I missing something here guys?

Hmmm, I am confused about this one. On Sunday I went to Wow Retro in Covent Garden and saw some great original polka dot camisoles and dresses which were very cute, extremely ladylike and not all all tacky. I left feeling that maybe even I could learn to let go of the stripes and embrace the dots.
Until yesterday....I was on the same train as a bunch of 16 year old girls, being self obsessed as only 16 year olds can be and covered head to toe in polka dots of various colours, shapes and sizes, all in one outfit. They looked terrible. In conclusion I decided unless you are lucky enough to have the money (and body shape) to fit into the vintage then give dots a wide berth. I will be.
